I use my academic background and unconventional professional experience to inform my teaching style: holistically working towards greater overall comfort with the subject and its main ideas. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I'm especially interested in working with students to improve their writing so that they can communicate complex ideas in a way that is both stylistically and technically proficient. I also enjoy teaching trumpet to aspiring musicians.
I graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in anthropology and global health, and have worked in both the not-for-profit and for-profit worlds in New York and throughout East Africa. In my spare time, I enjoy jazz, cooking, and reading.
