To begin, I believe any student willing to learn deserves the chance to do so. I have been teaching for about six years now with a wide age spread of students, ranging from middle school to high school . I started teaching oboe upon entering college, and quickly found that it was one of the most fulfilling things I had ever done in my life. I received my Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the University of Houston in 2016, where I studied under Dr. Anne Leek, Jonathan Fischer, and Adam Dinitz. I have quite a bit of experience in teaching oboe/English horn methods, minor instrument maintenance, and reed-making. I personally make every single reed that my students and I play on, and I'm very proficient at adjusting my reed style to each individuals needs. I'm a very patient and caring teacher, and will always do my very best to help a student with whatever they struggle with, musically. I put a strong focus on playing with as little stress and physical tension as one possibly can. Playing oboe is not an easy feat, but I am here to make it feel like one.
