I hold five Master of Education (M.Ed.) degrees, these include, English, Social Sciences, Science, Mathematics and Special Education (all exceptionalities). As well, I have a B.A. in Communication, a Minor in Psychology and Minor in Sociology. All of which I earned from George Mason University. In my 15 years as an educator I have taught and tutored over 399 subject areas, online as well as in-person with pupils of all ages. I have piloted programs implementing technology, and those designed to apply my aptitude for differentiated instruction strategies for clients of all learning styles and abilities. I pride myself, on my extensive background and passion for teaching; knowing, that every student no matter their age, level or need, can succeed.

My teaching and tutoring ability spans a plethora of subsets within subjects including English, Social Sciences, Math, Science, ESL and Language Acquisition, Test Preparation and Certificate Exam Training at all grade and age levels. Including but not limited to entrance exams, graduate and post-graduate exams and certifications, SAT, PSAT, GED, ISEE, SSAT, CSET, Praxis, GMAT, LSAT, HSPT, SHSAT, GRE, Grade Level State Specific Standardized Tests and college/Armed Forces admission preparation.

I work with several clients year-round on a consistent basis for general studies, organization and study skills, supplementary practice, and comprehensive skill development and mentorship. For many clients, I work to ensure that satisfaction of grade level content standards are met with evidence, IEP and 504 based supports, home-bound/home-based instruction, and transition support from home-based instruction.

It is imperative to begin tutoring by learning about a student overall; yes, this includes all academic aspects, yet knowing who they are outside of that arena provides the foundation for considerate ways to integrate who they are into lessons. Building a strong context regarding the ways in which they, as an individual learn best be it obvious or not, furthers my ability to lead them to success by fostering them as a unique individual.

I feel it is incredibly important to establish a base with the student to ensure that they see and understand they, are recognized as a person, not just someone to tutor - another essential aspect in catering the differentiated ways to work together. I have a passion for playing soccer, ice skating, scuba diving, listening to music the kind that fits exactly when you need it to, adopting animals, and I am a huge college football fanatic. I love traveling to places that are the opposite of the expected, those that have yet to become tourist attractions. I do have one degree I have yet to finish: Life; and, class is in session every moment of every day. I am constantly learning, yes, from books but this degree in Life and its experiences prove often the most important. I proudly embrace my personality that I was not always confident in. I believe my sense of humor, often out of the box thinking, patience, empathy and ability to connect with people and motivate them, as I recognize them as unique individuals, is what further drives my passion to teach and mentor. This has allowed me to develop amazing skills to understand, educate and show students their potential, while I too, enjoy each lesson that my ongoing degree in life provides.
