My first tutoring experience occurred at my alma mater, Oregon State University (OSU). While an upperclassman working towards a bachelors of science (B.S.) in physics, I taught recitation and laboratory sections of general physics courses. As a part of my duties, I tutored students in general physics. I enjoyed this experience. After graduation, I stayed at OSU and completed a doctorate (Ph.D.) in materials science. Then I conducted postdoctoral materials research at the Pennsylvania State University. In this time, I found that I preferred teaching to research. I am now teaching and tutoring college physics, mathematics, and chemistry at the College of Southern Nevada.
I find fulfillment, working directly with students and solving difficult problems. For this I enjoy tutoring students. With Varsity Tutors, I tutor AP and college physics, mathematics, European history, and chemistry. I plan on adding subjects.
