I have been extremely passionate about biology since I was first introduced to it in the third grade. Since then, I have had the opportunity to pursue my fascination in biological sciences at Knox College where I graduated magna cum laude with a major GPA of 3.97. I majored in biology and double minored in neuroscience and environmental science. During my time at Knox College, I was a school employed biology and neuroscience tutor. I worked with peers on their conceptual understanding of complex biological processes, and helped them with worksheets, research papers, and exam prep. I tutor all fields of biology from conservation to organismal to molecular. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to review fascinating biological concepts that I would otherwise not interface with on a daily basis. I am currently working for a clinical research organization, but I hope to continue my education with a Masters in biotechnology.

At a young age, before I learned to cope with how my mind worked, I struggled in school because of my dyslexia. However, I have developed techniques that have allowed me to use my unique way of thinking to my advantage excel in the academic world. This personal experience informs my tutoring philosophy. No concept or problem is out of one's reach; It is not a question of if someone can understand the material, but rather how information needs to be framed for each individual to fully grasp it.

In my free time, I like being outdoors, biking, hiking, and playing sports. I am also a big fan of art especially ceramics and pottery. I like eating and making good food and whooping people at Settlers of Catan.
