English and writing are tools that can be used to articulate oneself and ideas. Strong and reading comprehension skills strengthen the impact and merit of your thoughts and that is what I strive to give students; I want to foster genuine interest and confidence in a student's reading and writing so they have the power to share their passions and opinions. I am currently a senior at Union College, working towards a BA in English and a double minor in Asian Studies and Chinese. During my time at college, I have served as a mentor and tutor in English on topics such as Reading Comprehension, Essay Writing, 19th Century British Novel, College Level Introductory English Courses, American Literature (1800s-contemporary), Gothic, Milton, and Shakespeare. I have mainly tutored high school students, incoming first year college students, and current college students. When I'm not tutoring or doing school work, I read for enjoyment (Stephen King is my current obsession), draw, longboard, listen to music (anything from The 1975 and Panic! At The Disco to Broadway show tunes), and write short stories.
