I am a graduate of the University of Central Florida where I received a B.A. in English on the creative writing track. I'm currently working towards a master's degree in English from Florida Atlantic University, with a focus in fantasy and science fiction. While attending F.A.U., I taught entry level college writing courses, and I became a CRLA certified writing tutor at the University's Center for Excellence in Writing as well. I have two years of experience teaching and tutoring on the collegiate level, as well as with students in grades K-12. I'm comfortable working with student's writing in all disciplines, from high school expository essays to reviewing pieces of doctoral dissertations. My teaching style is flexible, and centered on educating students in a way that is most effective for them. My goal in teaching reading and writing is to be able to help my students learn how to wield their own voices with power in their own writing. My hope is that my students leave our sessions having learned the material with enough self-assurance that, if asked, they would be confident enough to teach that material themselves. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing short fiction and scripts, and playing videogames. I also gather with friends weekly for a game of Dungeons and Dragons.
