I'm currently an undergraduate student at the University of Houston, and I'm studying Environmental Science. I decided on environmental science after taking a class in high school that was a really eye-opening experience for me. Environmental science is my favorite subject to tutor because I hope to help other students develop an understanding of the relevance of environmental science.
Additionally, I previously served as a mentor at an engineering, science, and math summer camp that was geared towards exposing middle and high school aged girls to the STEM field. This was a really rewarding experience because it was an opportunity to teach girls that their career options are limitless. Furthermore, it taught me a lot about how scientific principles can often be simplified in to much more accessible terms that anyone can grasp.
Outside of school, I spend quite a bit of time playing my ukulele and singing. I also work part time selling hiking shoes at an outdoors store, so I've developed an extreme fondness for taking time to reconnect with nature. Whenever I have free time on campus I like to set up my hammock between two trees and just hang out.
