I recently graduated from Spelman College in May 2015 and moved to LA shortly after. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Women's Studies with an emphasis in Women's Health and a minor in Spanish. Currently I am working towards a Masters of Science in Nursing to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. I have been in the education realm for roughly six years. I have experience with preschoolers, elementary and middle school aged students. The subjects I tutor include: math (pre-algebra, algebra, geometry), Spanish, language arts, reading, writing and flute playing. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and Spanish which were also my favorite to learn while I was in school. When you're passionate about something it is fun and inspiring to pass it on to others. My teaching style is "slow and steady" meaning that we will take it as slow as possible and break down all possible concepts so that the student can gain all the information and skills needed to do homework, pass an exam, create a project, etc. I find that this method boosts students' confidence while also supporting their learning.
