Hello everyone, My name is Gary and I began helping people as a peer tutor at the University of Akron when I was an undergrad Spanish major and since then I've taught and tutored the Spanish language and two forms of Latin Dance which are Salsa and Bachata (both of which were taught in Spanish and to a Spanish speaking audience). What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to make new connections, meet new people, and help people that are now on a similar journey that I once was on before in my life.

I have an extensive background with respect to the Spanish language and the Latin American culture in general. Apart from having 10 years of teaching Spanish under my belt, 13 years as a Spanish student, and having volunteered, worked, studied and lived in Latin American countries like Mexico, Argentina, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama, I have been deeply immersed in Latin American culture and am able to provide not only assistance with words and phonetics but also I'm able to bring a cultural component to the table that is essential for "switching the chip" in your mind as you strive to really master another language and become fluent in all of its contexts.
