I am an engineer with a B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. During my graduate work at Georgia Tech I volunteered as a math and science tutor for at-risk youth and found I had a talent for helping students to connect the dots when struggling with difficult problems. Tutoring is also great mental exercise and helping a student reach an "Aha!" moment is a unique and rewarding experience. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy getting outside from my garden to the Blue Ridge, reading a good book, and every so often playing a few rounds of Overwatch ;-) .
