I believe learning is a lifelong journey and that all students can learn. I recognize and celebrate the fact that many have different pathways to obtaining that knowledge. An online platform can help facilitate learning in new and inventive ways, reaching individuals where they are at. My goal is to facilitate learning and meet individual needs and in order to achieve the highest outcomes. Each student comes to the table with their various life experiences. These factor into their learning and their approach to the material. I hope to foster an environment that encourages learning while encouraging individual discovery and growth. Writing and communication that is candid and real is important to me, and I strive to communicate that way with my students as well.
Over the years I have discovered that my creative passion truly lies within the community and the relationships built with the people. I desire to teach English because I believe that composition and literature have a significant impact on the success of students in school, as well as in nearly every aspect of life outside of school. Outside of English, I teach music and other subjects, to enhance each students life as well as to further their educational goals. I have taught reading and math to elementary students and college students alike. I enjoy teaching all around. I especially enjoy helping students to love learning and to develop a lifetime learner approach to life.
