My tutoring experience began at a very young age, when I helped a 5th grade classmate learn English after she transferred to my school from Vietnam. I loved helping her sound out words and understand the stories we were reading, and my joy of reading quickly spread to her. Since then, I have tutored and taught students of all ages, from elementary students to adults, and one of my biggest passions is spreading the love of reading and writing to everyone I meet.
I have a degree in English Literature from University of Virginia. I have a strong background in formal teaching methods (2 years teaching high school English in Texas, 1 year teaching 4th grade reading in Tennessee), but my main strengths lie in my ability to make lasting connections with my students, which only help make their learning more personal and more important.
I also have written for several print publications in college and in internships, so my proofreading skills are strong and ideal for any type of writing. I have four years of public speaking experience, through which I have received state-level recognition.
I am excited to hear from you and help you love reading and writing as much as I do!
