Completing my undergraduate from Sewanee: University of the South, I majored in biochemistry and English and graduated with a bachelor's in science. During those years, I tutored for 2 years in subjects such as algebra I and II, geometry, and chemistry.
For my master's of arts in teaching, I attended the University of Louisville. While completing this degree, I taught for two years as a middle school science teacher. I often provided after school tutoring in subjects such as middle school math, English, and science.
I currently welcome all students in need of a tutor for middle school math, middle school language arts, middle school science, all elementary subjects, and high school algebra and geometry. My favorite subject to teach is math because I enjoy breaking away the negative stigma of this subject.
My teaching philosophy relies around making you feel comfortable with the subject until you are capable of working alone. This often involves scaffolding and many practice questions.
