I am a graduate of The University of Georgia. I received a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics and a Bachelor's of Science in Statistics in May 2017. I received a Masters in Mathematics Education from UGA in 2020. I am currently working on a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics Education at North Carolina State University. At NCSU, I am teaching a course on Calculus for Elementary Education majors.
Since completing my undergraduate degrees, I have been continuing working as a private tutor in Athens and Johns Creek. I am well versed in all areas of Mathematics. I worked in the Math Lab at UGA tutoring primarily Algebra, PreCalculus, and Calculus. Additionally I was a Graduate Assistant for the Division of Academic Enhancement at UGA where I supervised 23 tutors.
In my experience, most students actually have a strong understanding of mathematical concepts. It is usually one or two techniques that get them tripped up. I pride myself on being able to alleviate confusion in math for students. I have a wide variety of techniques to help every student understand every step of the process. I use my mathematical prowess as well as my corny sense of humor to make sure every student I work with has a strong understanding of the material being covered. In my spare time, I enjoy watching Football and Hockey, playing musical instruments, and participating in trivia.
