I grew up and attended college in Pennsylvania. At Swarthmore College, I studied biology and Spanish, and also did a considerable amount of art. Between high school and college, and then again between college and graduate school, I took time off to travel and refine my interests. Now in graduate school, I research symbiotic fungi in agricultural ecosystems. I am super excited about sustainable agriculture, fungal biology, and phylogeny. With strong passion and patience, I help students learn and love science.
