My story is a bit different than most. I went to SUNY at Buffalo and got my Bachelor's in Linguistics and Spanish. In this time, I spent 6 months studying in Madrid, Spain, and another 4 months studying in Moscow, Russia. I am completely obsessed with learning everything I can learn about language. I also love traveling as much and as often as I can.
Nowadays, I live and work in a small city in Hungary as a high school English teacher. I have about a year and a half in teaching experience and love what I am doing. In my classroom, I love to try different approaches to get my students to learn the material. I believe, if the material can be spun in a way that is more fun, then the student will comprehend it more easily and leave the classroom a bit more motivated to continue. I would like these aspects of teaching to transfer into my tutoring here with Varsity Tutors.
With living in Europe, I won't be available for in person tutoring, but I do offer a very unique schedule of open times because of the time difference. Learning a new language can be one of the hardest things in life. But, the decision to do so is probably the best you will ever make. Let me help you get closer to your dreams of speaking a new language!
