I am a publishing writer of fiction and a teacher of literature and writing at the high-school and college levels. Simply put, I love the English language, and I have devoted my professional and creative lives to it. I believe that English composition is an art and a science, and it requires mechanical knowledge and intuition. I believe that both can be taught. I love to teach, and I love to help students of any grade level or reading proficiency improve their ability with English prose, which is, I think, the most important and practical skill a person can have.
