What is your teaching philosophy?

Typically, I would get to know the student first and build a rapport with them. Once we've gotten to know each other, I would discuss their interest level and previous knowledge in the subject before moving on to more advanced material. This way, we can skip past all the information that the student already has a strong understanding of and focus solely on what is lacking in his/her current subject knowledge.
