Hello, I'm Sara and I love all things humanities.

I'm Oxford educated (BA English and French) and have an MA in English. I lived in France for two years, making me a great resource for French learners of all levels. I attended a rigorous prep school in Seattle, so I know what it takes to thrive in such environments.

I'm excited to help you not only to excel in your courses and to grow in confidence, but also to gain a deeper appreciation for the subjects as a whole. In our time together, I hope we can pair enjoyment with results.

I have solid teaching experience with students of all ages, both in the classroom and one-on-one.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

Whenever possible, my lessons are a discussion rather than lecture based. I take my cues from my students and encourage interdisciplinary learning. In the humanities, success comes from knowing which questions to ask, how to ask them, and how to set about answering them. This is the skill set I help students develop - it lays the groundwork for a lifetime of both subject enjoyment and results.
