Like most members of my family, I grew up believing myself to be incapable of understanding math and science concepts, and I was a very underachieving high school student. After owning and operating a successful residential painting business for many years, I returned to school at the age of 30 to study music theory. While fulfilling the degree requirements, I found that I had been mistaken, and I was in fact capable of achieving a level of academic success which I had never believed possible. I have since graduated from Skagit Valley College with an AA in Music and an AA in art, and from the University of Washington with a BS in Electrical Engineering. While tutoring at Skagit Valley College, I received an award for excellence in tutoring in recognition of my dedication to my students. I love tutoring, and I’m always happy to find opportunities to encourage and inspire others to believe in themselves and achieve beyond their own expectations.
