Hello, I am a super excited yet mellow second-grade teacher who started tutoring while in High School and I have continued to tutor since then. I enjoy tutoring students of all ages as I feel it keeps me challenged and on my toes. Plus, the variety allows me the opportunity to change things up from my comfort zone to be able to help my students with any assistance they may need. I am most familiar with Early Education curriculum from PreK-8 since that was my focus for my Master's degree. Then, High School content would be second as I have tutored high school students in regular and AP classes for a handful of years.
In my free time, I enjoy anything outdoors in the Florida sunshine. Currently, I am learning to spearfish and free dive. I enjoy reading and trying new things. After all, Variety is the spice of life!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." William Butler Yeats

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Start with introductions, build a sense of rapport and possibly beginning assessments to see where the student was in their learning, and then plan according to their needs.
