Hi! I'm Naeem and I'm an engineering student at Wash U. My main academic interests are math and chemistry. I want to tutor because I'll be able to help other people understand some really cool concepts within these subjects. I know the satisfaction that comes when you finally master something you've been working hard for and I want to be involved with helping others get to that point.
What is your teaching philosophy?
My teaching philosophy largely consists of relating academic material and problems to real-world phenomena. When you can explain something you see in real life using chemistry, math, or physics, I think this connection sparks genuine fascination with many students, including myself.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
In the first session, I'd try and get acclimated to the student's learning process. I know there's a lot of variation in the way people best absorb information, and a good teacher is someone who can adjust their teaching style to accommodate each student.
