What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that while not everyone learns the same way, everyone is able to learn.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

Get to know them, and let them know a little bit about me. This icebreaker helps us become comfortable and familiar with each other.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

As I assist a student, it is important to help them realize and understand how they learn best as we discover this information during tutoring sessions. Helping them understand what works best for them and assisting them in applying these learning methods will lead to them becoming an independent learner.
