Tutoring is something I am passionate about because I have experienced firsthand the benefits of a hard earned education and I value the opportunity to help other students discover how rewarding a solid academic foundation can be. As a fourth year Microbiology student at the University of Florida, I have had the great pleasure of immersing myself in several different academic disciplines including: Biology, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physics. My university career has opened my eyes to the complexities and beauty of the awe-inspiring world we all live in. By the same token, I firmly believe that any form of education, whether it be in the arts, humanities, or scientific disciplines, will ultimately lead to a greater appreciation of life, from both an academic and personal standpoint. My favorite subjects to tutor are biology and math because both subjects may seem complex at first, but become much easier to understand once put in the context of a few simple laws. My tutoring style is very focused on practice and a strong understanding of the basics. This approach has worked very well during my experience as a middle school Mathematics tutor. As for my own education, I will soon be finishing up my Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and applying to medical school. I am also a nature lover at heart and during my free time, I enjoy hiking, fishing, and playing basketball.
