I have recently graduated from undergraduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Minor in Psychology. I spent my last year doing undergraduate research in a cancer research laboratory and have a few publications in the works and one accepted for publication in May. I have spent the last four years becoming an expert in Biology and plan to further my education. I have tutored several students in my classes for exams and some high school students to prepare them for upcoming tests as well.
I would love the opportunity to work with you to reach your goals. I have experience taking those difficult classes and helped others who each learn differently to reach their goals.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

As a tutor, my main focus is to help people learn. A large part of teaching, in my opinion, is communication. Teaching is just communication and if you can't communicate, you can't teach. Therefore, I do my best to find the way we communicate best.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would like to establish our goals for what we want to accomplish and then figure out where our focus needs to be.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I think setting short term goals, then slowly making them long term, can help you stay motivated. Checkpoints and a variety of activities also help so that when you're ready for those long term goals, you stay motivated.
