I have studied German since 2004 and taught it professionally since 2012. I love the culture and the language - it's not only my job, but my passion. I studied abroad in Germany (Stuttgart area) through UMD and am going to Berlin later this summer.
The ability to communicate authentically is the overarching goal of my teaching. I want students to have the ability to use what they learned in real-life situations. I want my students to be intrinsically motivated when it comes to German language and culture. Essentially, I want them to go to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or Liechtenstein, etc and succeed.
I am always friendly with my students. I want learning to be immersive and authentic. I want students to have the same experience with German that I had. When it comes down to it, I want my students to love the language like I do!
