Hi! I am happy to be a tutor with Varsity Tutors. Tutoring is a joy for me, and I have tutored in subjects such as SAT, English, Algebra, Calculus, Spanish, writing, and more. My background includes working with students one-on-one and in classrooms settings.
As an undergraduate student at Yale, I completed a science curriculum including biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, and mathematics. Additionally, as an undergraduate student at a liberal arts school I gained a rigorous background in literature, journalism, and English. Therefore, I am comfortable tutoring students in both science/mathematics and humanities classes.
In addition, I also have a strong mastery of standardized tests, and have a firm grasp of leading students in test preparation. In high school, I scored in the 99th percentile (2250) of the 2009 SAT exam. Moreover, I completed 16 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, earning the distinction of National AP Scholar. Lastly, I have experience with the LSAT and ACT standardized tests, and am happy to work with students in improve the test-taking skills for these tests as well.
Outside of tutoring, I love to read--especially American novels and journalistic pieces. I am also a film and TV junkie--I like talking about latest films and good television (Revenant! Game of Thrones! Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! House of Cards!). Lastly, I became vegetarian about a year ago and I enjoy cooking vegetarian meals.
