I hold a Bachelor's of Science degree from The University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica in Botany and Zoology. I also hold a Masters and Doctoral degree from the University of Florida. I have had approximately 6 years of teaching experience and have individually tutored my students during that time. My favorite subjects to tutor are Biology and Environmental Science. I enjoy working with students and do my best to facilitate them achieving their academic goals. I usually adapt my tutoring style based on the type of learner (kinesthetic, auditory, visual) I am working with. People learn best when they can relate new information to previous knowledge, thus allowing my students to see connections and parallels to things they already know is very important to me as a tutor. Being able to see the big picture is important in learning.
I love the outdoors and outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, gardening and motorsports. When I do have time to spare for TV, I usually watch a crime solving or mystery series; I also love a good action movie. I love food and love to eat and consider myself a foodie. My passions include insects, plants and empowering people to plant vegetable gardens as a way to provide healthy, nutritious food for family meals.
