I am a graduate of Whitman College with a Bachelor of the Arts in English. Due to Whitman's liberal arts program, I am also well-versed in Gender Studies, Psychology, and Sociology. Having the knowledge to succeed is one thing, but knowing how to apply and teach it is another. I have seven years of experience tutoring in both individual and classroom settings from elementary school to high school and make it my job to translate obscure concepts into easy-to-understand and relevant examples.

English is my favorite subject because it allows for an incredible amount of creativity and unorthodox interpretation when both writing and reading. Having most recently finished a year tutoring at a high school, I know that required reading and subsequent essay writing is not the preferred activity of some students. That said, I am passionate about trying to share my love of the craft with students to make reading and writing an enjoyable activity.
