I have three years of experience as an Instructional Assistant at a high school, and have learned how to easily break concepts down into simple and easy-to-understand steps. I have also taken several math and computer science courses, which has given me the tools needed to help others get past some of the roadblocks they may encounter while learning.

I enjoy reading and fixing iPhones in my spare time. I have recently also become interested in books about how our social brain works. I love helping my students get past tough spots, and helping them relieve the stress that comes with struggling through difficult concepts, because I have been there myself! I start by assessing a student's subject knowledge, and then smoothing out any misunderstood areas before moving forward. I especially like assessing the concepts and questions that tripped me up when I myself was a student, as those will likely be the concepts my students also struggle with. If a student then has trouble explaining a problem, I will then reiterate it from my point of view.

What is your teaching philosophy?

Everyone gets stuck on material at some point, and from getting frustrated in the past I've learned it's better to ask for help and move on.
