I am a chemistry instructor with 13 years of experience with teaching students. I obtained my PhD in Chemistry, and my BS in Chemical Sciences.

To improve the interest of students in chemistry, my course materials are simultaneously challenging and engaging, relevant and applying real life examples. I am of the opinion that students learn better and retain more information if material is presented in an engaging manner. Technologies including videos, slides, internet, etc., are essential tools I use in classroom to foster learning. In addition, I adopt the following to enhance my students performance: grouping students for active group discussions, allowing them to present assigned portions of the course materials in the classroom, writing on assigned topics from the textbook to improve their learning and writing skills, taking quizzes, and solving problem sets in and out of the classroom.

In my interactions with students, I endeavor to be respectful, especially when dealing with differing opinions arising from scientific reasoning. I encourage my students to think critically, not simply to accept my ideas and opinions. My drive to pursue higher education was due in part to various teachers who inspired me. I would like to be a promoter for others to follow their dreams.

My continued desire is to be more dedicated, motivated, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and approachable with an ardent attitude towards helping students. I will ensure that my students find their time with me rewarding and unforgettable. I believe that my role as a teacher is to show the path, motivate, encourage, and lead by example. My rewards and success lie in seeing my students succeed.
