I am a student at Saint Joseph's University pursuing a degree in actuarial science and computer science. I graduated in the top 5% of my high school and have maintained a high GPA in college. I have been tutoring for three years and have a passion for learning. Math is my specialty but I am knowledgeable in Spanish, test prep and study skills as well. Tutoring is rewarding for me because I enjoy working one on one with students to help them reach their full potential. My availability is very flexible as a college student, so do not hesitate to check out my resume and contact me!

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

I would get to know a little about them and their learning style/study habits before diving into the subject matter.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

By asking them to explain how they find their answers, students learn to rely on their own knowledge so they may articulate it. Making mistakes and learning where they went wrong can help too.
