I recently completed my Ph.D. in chemistry at Stanford University, and I am now in Washington to pursue another interest: policy. During the process of earning my graduate degree in chemistry and my undergraduate degree in biochemistry (Mt. Holyoke College), I have had the opportunity to both teach classes and tutor individuals. For me, working with students was one of the most enjoyable parts of graduate school, which is why I'm continuing to tutor even as I branch out into other areas of interest. While I am comfortable working with students in a variety of areas, I particularly enjoy tutoring students in organic chemistry. Many students find organic chemistry daunting, but it can really be fun! However, when you are struggling with any subject, success requires hard work and a good attitude (from you) and clear explanations, examples, and practice problems (from me). In addition to tutoring, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, playing the cello, and getting out to explore my new home, Washington D.C.!
