I graduated from Howard University in 2015 with a degree in Political Science where I focused on International Relations and minored in Russian Studies. My strengths are in writing essays, research papers, and personal statements. I am quite adept preparing for content tests in courses that deal with Foreign Policy, Political Theory, Macroeconomics, Comparative Politics, and History. In high school I took AP U.S History and AP U.S Government and scored well on both exams. In college, I informally reviewed essays, term papers, and research papers of my peers and had great success in assisting them prepare A worth outlines. I find great satisfaction in and seeing people succeed and reach their goals and I endeavor to leave a positive impression on all individuals whose paths I cross.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I teach by precept and example and, when necessary, I make use of the Socratic method to help students draw their own conclusions.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In my first session, I want to get to know my student. I find that getting to know an individual first will enhance my ability to be a more effective tutor.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

I will help my students become independent learners by teaching them how to make an outline.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would help them to appreciate that, by being successful, they will be one step closer to achieving their goals.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I will utilize a method of teaching that best suits my client. My goal as a tutor is to find out how I can best serve my client.
