For my entire life, I have loved and excelled at reading and writing and taken great satisfaction in sharing that fondness with others. In middle and high school, I edited the essays and short stories of my friends and peers for enjoyment, starting with basic grammar corrections and eventually expanding my scope to comments on structure, plot, imagery, and clarity of thought. Now, I tutor reading, writing, and test preparation. I have extensive knowledge of standardized tests and thorough experience with AP exams from my high school years, and have never ceased to love counseling writers.
In college, where I received my BFA in Acting with a focus in Classical Theatre from Oklahoma City University, I spent three semesters, including one abroad in the UK, studying Shakespeare, and was part of a playwriting collective dedicated to producing new work, where I consulted and edited the works. In addition to pursuing theatre studies, I voluntarily took classes in Western Literature, Philosophy, Gothic Literature, Greek Theatre, and three semesters of Theatre History. I have a deep and abiding love of classical texts, and have found that one of my great joys in tutoring has been to explore texts with students that seem archaic and remote and make them as vibrant and exciting as they were in their time. I am outgoing, intensely passionate about what I do, and always eager to help.
