I received a BS in Chemistry from Lake Superior State University and an MS in Management from Troy University. I am a former US Air Force officer, having lived overseas (Europe) on two separate occasions and have also spent over 15 years in Corporate America with companies such as Bayer Healthcare and Siemens Medical Diagnostics.

The subjects that I tutor include Arithmetic and Middle-school Math, Geometry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, 2, 3/4, English/ESL/ELL, and Physical/General Sciences. My favorite subjects to teach are Math, Science and English because I believe students with strong foundations in these areas will be successful in future academic pursuits and any future career-path.

My teaching and tutoring philosophy is to bring exceptional value to students and/or families by providing outstanding content knowledge in-combination with a strong mentoring and encouraging style. I personally struggled in academics as a young student, until I was exposed to excellent and passionate teaching. Subsequently I learned to love academics, and now I enjoy "paying it forward". I use appropriate informal and -- sometimes formal -- assessments and motivational steps along the way to gauge progress and to plan instruction that is effective and inspirational for my students. My goal is to make leaning effective, enjoyable and applicable to the student's specific situations, goals and needs.

My hobbies include family activities, music, food, culture, travel, reading, learning and more!

I am experienced in teaching at the high school math and science level and have also been a graduate teaching assistant in the past for chemistry. I have led groups and individuals to higher levels of achievement in many settings, from educational to business; I'd be honored to help you or your student as well!
