I am a recent graduate of Johns Hopkins University where I majored in Biophysics and minored in Linguistics. I love math and science because they allow us to delve deeper and discover how and why things happen! I've spent the last four summers working at a residential summer camp, and I currently teach preschool in rural Appalachia through AmeriCorps. As my experience suggests, I love working hands on with younger students.
I've also had the opportunity to intern with Teach For America at an inner city high school. There I helped teach Algebra I and Geometry classes as well as after school SAT test prep. In 2014, I served as an assistant coach for a local high school tennis team. I know there can be a lot of pressure associated with college preparation and the SAT, but I hope to help alleviate some of that stress by presenting the material thoroughly and ensuring the student feels comfortable with it (and I'll try to make it as enjoyable as possible!) One of the things I'm most passionate about is inspiring girls to explore the STEM fields and helping them develop the academic confidence to do so.
I've been accepted to the Masters of Biomedical Science program at Tufts University for Fall 2015 and I hope to attend medical school in 2016.
