After graduating from American University with a B.A. in Government and Political Science, I began a long and varied career in both the non-profit and business worlds. As a political candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, an executive director at a regional non-profit, and an entrepreneur, I am able to bring to the student valuable life experiences along within an academic setting.
My professional career has taught me the value of active listening and working with those from a wide variety of personal backgrounds and experience. Everybody learns differently, and my job is to communicate information and concepts to students in ways that are most effective for them.
History, politics, business management, and marketing are all areas of study most enjoyable to me, and ones I use almost daily. I enjoy relating both theoretical and practical concepts to my students’ own lives so they can learn, appreciate, and retain concepts that are critical to success in the classroom and in a career.
Undergraduate Degree: American University - Bachelor in Arts, Political Science and Government
When not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my two boys (ages 7 and 9),and pursue a diverse range of interests including music, current events, and competitive go-kart racing and table tennis.
