I'm a recent graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in both Biochemistry and Chinese. I enjoyed being involved on campus- I'm a member of Phi Gamma Nu business fraternity and Kappa Delta social sorority. I volunteer with two local outreach programs for teens and am a member of my school's International Relations Council.
I am an experienced tutor who loves to teach and help others. I have over 400 hours of tutoring experience in a variety of high school subjects, particularly in the hard sciences and math up to calculus. At the same time, I have experience tutoring lower level subjects, such as middle school math, in my breaks at home. I have also worked as an English as a Second Language Tutor for a graduate native Mandarin speaker. I think it's the diversity of my tutoring experiences that makes me such a patient, dedicated tutor- no matter who it is, I can develop a personalized teaching style for them.
As a tutor, I believe that it's my job not only to teach students how to do the current problem, but to develop a thorough understanding of the concepts behind the problems. I use an extremely interactive tutoring style to make sure that at the end of the session, students will feel comfortable applying what we learned to problems of all types, and confident in the knowledge they have gained.
