I am a Virginia Commonwealth University graduate with a B.S. in Economics. I have worked in education as a tutor, an undergraduate teacher assistant, and an intern for the Economic Education Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. As a tutor for the university, I had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students ranging from traditional freshmen to adult learners. To help develop my tutoring skills, I attended weekly workshops, where we focused on communication skills, the tutoring cycle, and learning styles. I was also reviewed by a peer tutor and the Tutor Coordinator twice a semester in order to receive feedback on my performance. My academic career coupled with my prior work experiences in education have reinforced my passion for learning. I strongly believe that knowledge is power, and I drive to help others believe in themselves through education.
