I am passionate about helping students because I want to see them excel in academia and life. I have worked with many different types of students, due to being active in JROTC, Boy Scouts, the Civil Air Patrol and volunteering in elementary schools. I am currently a Biology and Pre-Medicine major and a German and Public Health minor at the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz Medical Campus, where I aspire to become a naval trauma orthopedic surgeon.

I support subjects ranging from biology and chemistry, to math and foreign languages. Science is my chosen area of academic study but I also love to help students learn about culture. I believe that the easiest way to understand a new culture is to understand that culture's language. My personal goal is to become fluent in seven foreign languages, so I can treat patients from many different regions of the world.

I enjoy doing many activities that keep me outdoors: hiking, biking, camping, fishing, running, etc. due to me being an Eagle Scout, past JROTC cadet, Civil Air Patrol Cadet and a student pilot. Because of my JROTC experience, I live by three core values: Integrity First, Service before Self and Excellence in all we do.

Q & A

What is your teaching philosophy?

My teaching philosophy is to be a guide for the student and not someone that will do the work for them. I am open to all questions and forms of learning.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

In a typical first session, I will chat with the student, and we'd briefly get to know each other. After that, I like to figure out what problems we will tackle together and figure out a learning plan.
