I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University, where I double majored in Journalism and English. While pursuing these studies, I also earned a Certificate in Editing from NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies. In addition to my courses, I devoted my time in New York to gaining professional experience through internships with a local newspaper and InStyle magazine's online publication. Working side by side with esteemed Editors, Photographers, and Reporters was an invaluable experience that exposed me to the excitement and challenges presented by the fast-paced field of communications.
Upon graduation, I joined a boutique tutoring agency based in New York City, as the Program Coordinator, learning the ins and outs of school systems and educational enterprises. Because of my time spent with this company, I believe that the best way to approach tutoring is as a Mentor, rather than merely an Educator. I strive to support students both intellectually and emotionally, helping them realize their own ability to succeed. While I am qualified to tutor a wide range of subjects, the work I find to be most rewarding is assisting students with Writing. There is simply no greater pleasure than to see a student realize that they not only have valuable insights, but that they have the power to communicate this knowledge to the world.
When not reading or working on my own personal writing projects, I enjoy biking, going for walks with my dog Benji, searching for any and all televised gymnastics competitions, and watching football on Sundays.
