I am a graduate of Iowa State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus on secondary education. Since graduation, I have successfully taught Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language skills in two urban schools as well as a suburban and a rural school. I taught at a drop-out retrieval program in Chicago, and I taught at-risk and underprivileged students ranging in age from 11-21 years at Ombudsman centers in Aurora, CO, and Omaha, NE, respectively. I also taught at an underprivileged public high school in Waukon, IA. While I am qualified to tutor many subjects, I most enjoy tutoring Writing, Reading Comprehension, and Language Arts Skills. In my experience, working individually with students and basing a tutoring program based on a student's needs and interests is most effective. In my spare time, I dedicate myself to camping, hiking, backpacking, and cooking.
