I graduated from the University of Maryland- College Park with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2012. I immediately went into a graduate program that helped me to get on the fast track to get my Teaching Certification. I am finishing up graduate school in the upcoming year in order to earn my Master's in Education.
I started tutoring back in high school with local elementary schools and have been tutoring ever since. Being a Teacher in the DC Metro area, I work with students every day and enjoy helping them to problem solve and answering their thought-provoking questions.
The best moment as a Tutor is when you see your students finally have the breakthrough and that "Aha!" moment, as we Teachers call it.
I am a Math and Science Teacher for the ESL population at my school and I always tell my students, "Math is Science and Science is Math," so it's tough for me to pick which subject is my favorite.
As a Teacher and a Tutor, my goal is to help students to become "elite problem solvers and master thinkers." I help each student to become a whiz in logic and reasoning through hands-on learning activities and taking real-world problems and trying to solve them in a way that makes sense to the student.
It can be tough and challenging, but nothing feels more rewarding then being proud of the hard work that went into figuring out a problem.
I have traveled my whole life and my goal is to visit and learn from different cultures and traditions on all 7 continents. I have visited five continents so far and can't wait for my next adventure. I am a massive sports fan. I like football, baseball, basketball, and soccer. A lot of that comes from my love of Statistics and the box scores. I look forward to meeting everyone's enormous potentials!
