I'm currently a student at Johns Hopkins, a rising junior, studying International Studies and Sociology. While those basically reflect my greater interests, I do have a very strong love for math (four years of math team) and primarily tutor in that. While I was on my school's math team, I coached both the algebra II and pre-calculus teams, leading both to top 3 finishes at the regional level. I have also done personal tutoring earlier on in high school and even do as much as possible to help current peers studying for exams, with homework, etc. I primarily tutor in math, but I am also available to help in Spanish. As a Cuban speaker who has taken 5 semesters of Spanish at the university level, I have no problem teaching colloquial or formal Spanish, depending on your or your child's need.
I'm really an amalgam of my interests (social studies, music and debating). I'm actually in two different bands and an a cappella group. I arrange and compose music and have a very strong interest in just listening to music (mainly indie folk and post rock). I think my interests and personality will become abundantly clear after meeting me, but I do pride myself on the time I pour into other people, and I promise to do the same for anybody looking for tutoring.
