I am a graduate of the University of Virginia where I studied English Literature and Psychology. In college, I took advantage of scenic Charlottesville, Virginia to enjoy hiking, rowing, and other outdoor activities. After college, I joined Teach For America to teach in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. I am currently a first grade teacher, which is a perfect fit with my passion for literacy. I love teaching students to read and watching the enormous growth they make once things "click." I believe that every student has the potential to be very successful by building on what they know in small increments and growing confidence in their own abilities. I tutor many subjects but my favorites are reading and writing based- phonics, English literature, and reading comprehension. Reading has been a favorite hobby of mine since elementary school and I love to share that passion with others. Outside of teaching and tutoring, travel is one of my favorite pastimes. I have spent time studying and traveling abroad, as exploring new places and meeting new people are some of my favorite things to do. I look forward to meeting you and working with you!
