I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics with a concentration in Statistics. I attended Drexel University in Philadelphia for two years prior to completing my degree at the University of Maryland. I am currently attending Law School to pursue a career in patent law.
Tutoring has always been a huge part of my life. I was blessed with intelligence and truly believe that it is a gift that should be shared with others. I absolutely love to teach! Being able to see a struggling student understand material which they thought to be impossible is one of the greatest feelings in the world. I currently tutor a wide variety of subjects from high school and collegiate level Math to Philosophy and Finance. I also specialize in SAT prep. I have tutored for ten years in a wide array of settings including three colleges and ten high schools. I have also tutored Adult Education for reentry into the work field and college prep. My favorite subjects to tutor are any Math subjects and AP World History. Anyone can learn and I pride myself on providing each student with a fun and stress free experience so that they can learn the best way possible. A subject may be challenging, but with hard work anything is possible!
In addition to my tutoring time, I fill my life with Zumba and competitive sports. I am a very active person and love a good competition. Growing up I was a part of the Mathletes, the Academic Team, and many other organizations, so I understand the struggle of a demanding gifted student's schedule. I also played volleyball and swam on the Junior Olympics team and was always very busy!
Students may be resistant to tutoring, but I put my focus on making the student as comfortable as possible to ensure the best learning experience. My variety of teaching experiences as well as my demanding background in sports and academia alike give me a lot of material and diverse ways to handle any tutoring problem that a student may come upon. I strongly believe that education is extremely important to developing a well rounded and successful life, and I follow that philosophy in my tutoring. I truly do love to tutor, and cannot wait to help another student! Have a wonderful day!
