I am a proud graduate of Eastern Washington University (Go Eags!). I just recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus in Pre-Medicine. I am actively applying to medical school and hope to begin my journey of becoming a doctor this summer. In college, I was a teacher's assistant for three courses (twice for Medical Bacteriology and once for Anatomy and Physiology). This gave me the chance to share my knowledge with my fellow students and to help guide their studies. I also had the great opportunity to play basketball for my college and learned many effective study skills while juggling school, basketball, and a part-time job. I am very passionate about Biology and any sub-category of Biology, but I also have a strong background in Chemistry and Statistics. Last year I was a mentor for at-risk teens at our local middle school. I really enjoyed the experience. I enjoy connecting with youth and it was very special to me to get to make a difference in a teen's life by just listening to them and showing them that someone cared about them. I would describe my teaching style as encouraging while also challenging the student to come up with their own answers and style of thinking. I believe education is very important. I know I wouldn't be where I am today without it and the help of all my teachers and coaches along the way. I hope to share my skills and help students gain confidence in their abilities and themselves. In my spare time I enjoy playing and watching all sports, working out, and just being outside and staying as active and fit as possible!
