My first introduction to tutoring was in a year off between high school and college. I tutored SAT prep, a subject that causes ire in the eyes of many a college applicant, but was honestly one of the more "fun" parts of my application. It was great to see how my students could eventually come around to seeing standardized tests as a puzzle, rather than a chore.
I've since spent several semesters as an Introductory Chemistry TA during my undergrad at Amherst College, where I majored in Biochemistry and Biophysics, magna cum laude. I'm also pre-med; I'm applying to medical schools now, for matriculation in the fall of 2014. I'm very passionate about science, particularly Microbiology. My enthusiasm and knowledge base are my best tools in creating learning environments which are stimulating and instructional.
